Although the procedure seems to be straight and simple, it has many aspects to consider before taking it up. Understanding the procedure helps us to know what to expect.

• The design: as per what has already been discussed the surgeon gives the shape, the person had described.
• Extraction: Usually, to reverse the thinning process or the impact of hair loss, hair is extracted from the donor area, which is mainly the back of the head and implanted onto the eyebrow area to enhance the density and shape.
• The hair follicles are extracted from the back of the head, which is called the donor area. The surgeon makes incisions at the follicle donor site and also at the sites of the transplantation in the brows. Then the donor area is bandaged.
• Generally, it may not require more than 300 grafts per eyebrow so a small area is used to extract the hair. Long hair ensures that the donor area is covered and it may not even be noticeable.
• The procedure is performed under local anesthesia keeping in mind that the patient feels comfortable and thus, it’s pain-free.
• The recipient area is comparatively not so big and the number of grafts required is lower.
• The entire process takes 3-4 hours and the patient is able to walk back home the same day, its purely an outpatient
• The eyebrow transplant is equally suitable for both men and women and the procedure to remains the same.

There are mainly two techniques employed to harvest the hair grafts:

The follicular unit transplant (FUT)– a narrow strip of hair tissue is removed from the back of the head and follicular units are extracted from these tissues for grafting.

The follicular unit extraction (FUE)– tiny bunches of individual hair follicles are extracted from the donor area. This method is more time-consuming and meticulous. Subsequently, it leaves notable scarring and turns out to be more costly in comparison to the other method.
