Our Heart has pulmonary artery which carries deoxygenated blood from heart to lungs for oxygenation and aorta for carrying oxygenated blood to various parts of the body. When these arteries are fused, there is increased flow of blood towards the lungs and that causes several problems to the individual. This condition requires open heart surgery and the blood is routed to heart and lung machine. The sugeon separates two arteries and closes them with either tissue surrounding the heart or by manmade materials.
