Cranioplasty is a surgical procedure used to correct a defect/deformation in the skull due to injury or previous surgeries on the brain. Generally, in this surgery, the doctor will reshape part of the skull, or will adjust the contour with an artificial graft. This procedure is performed under general anesthesia, and is generally performed on patients that would benefit from the cranioplasty either aesthetically, medically, or preventatively.
