Partial Hip replacement surgery is also known as the hip hemiarthroplasty. The surgery only replaces the hip ball (femoral head) of the damaged hip joint with an artificial implant. This artificial implant is called as the prosthetic implant. Partial hip replacement surgery is suggested after examining the extent of damage occurred to hip joint. It is generally performed if the fracture of the femoral neck cannot be fixed and socket remains intact or undamaged. The orthopedist needs to replace only the ball of the hip joint.
