How does penis enlargement work?
Penis enlargement surgery is basically of two types: Penile augmentation and suspensory ligament release.
Penile augmentation can be done by –
Fat transfer involves grafting fat cells from another place in the body into the penis and injecting the fat cells into the penis. They make small incisions into the sides of the penis and inject the purified fat cells into these areas. However, the drawback is the body can reabsorb the fat, which will cause the penis to return to its former size.
Suspensory ligament release technique – In this, the ligament that holds the penis to the pubic area is removed during the operation. This procedure changes the angle of the penis, and the difference in the angle of the penis when erect can make the penis appear lengthier.
The most common technique used for this is cutting the ligament that attaches the penis to the pubic bone. A skin graft is performed at the base of the penis to allow for the extra length. The surgery can result in an average increase in length of 2 cm of the flaccid penis, but there will hardly be any change in the size of the erect penis.
Penuma: This is a medical-grade device approved by FDA for penile enlargement. It is made of silicone and is inserted under the penis skin to make the penis longer and wider. It is a crescent-shaped device that is available in mainly three sizes: large, extra-large, and extra-extra-large.
The Penuma device is designed to fit the candidate’s specific penis shape. The device is inserted into the shaft over the corpus cavernosal, like a sheath. To do this, an incision is made in the groin area just above the base of the penis. The device will then stretch the penis skin and tissues, and make it look and feel larger.
The tissues that influence the penis shape are composed typically two types:
Corpus cavernosa: These are two cylindrical pieces of tissue that are parallel to each other along the top of the penis
Corpus spongiosum: It is a cylindrical piece of tissue that is located along the bottom of the penis and surrounds the urethra, a tube that carries urine.
Men with the Penuma have reported increase in length and girth (measurement around their penis) of about 1.5 to 2.5 inches, in flaccid and erect penis after the procedure. With Penuma, there could be an enlargement of the average penis up to a length of 6.1 inches when flaccid, and 7.7 inches when erect.
