Turkey has been a popular location for international patients who seek quality medical care in other countries. Every year, medical travelers from all over the world come to Turkey on visa for medical treatment purposes. As per the article 7.1b of “the Law on Foreigners and International Protection” no.6458, foreigners wanting to enter Turkey must carry a travel document/passport with an expiration date at least 60 days beyond the duration of stay on their visa (e-Visa, visa exemption, or residence permit). Medical visa is the type of visa one requires for entering Turkey with a puspose of receiving treatment. The visa can either be obtained from the Consulate of Turkey or through the online Visa or eVisa services. The eVisa can be obtained in advance of arrival through the government’s online visa website.
The Electronic Visa (e-Visa) Application System was started by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey on 17 April 2013. With this system, the visitors wanting to travel to Turkey are allowed to easily apply and obtain e-Visas online through the web portal – www.evisa.gov.tr. The procedure takes just a few minutes and e-Visa can be obtained 7/24 everywhere with internet connection. To obtain the visa, an applicant just needs to fill in the necessary information about their identity, passport and travel dates, followed by visa fee online payment. Fees for e-Visas are comparitively lower than the fees for visas obtained upon arrival on Turkish airports. The goverment declared that all kinds of applications for Turkish visas will have to be made via the Pre-Application System of Turkish Sticker Visa (regular visa).
The applicant must upload all the data required for visa applications to the system. After filling the online application, the applicants should apply to the Turkish Missions in order to complete the procedures. This involves submission of their duly signed visa application forms and passports along with the original copies of the required application documents that have been already uploaded on the online system.
For people applying from countries where internet connection is not good enough or the applicants is experiencing difficulties in filling in the application form, visa applications can be made directly to the relevant Turkish Missions in their country. In countries where there is no consular representation for Turkey, applicants can also use online scheduling for appointments with the nearest accredited consular office of Turkey.

Get Free Assistance for Medical Visa to Turkey
The Turkish eVisa has a validity of a total of 90 days during a 180-day period. Visitors who are in Turkey and wish to extend their tourist visa, can visit immigration officials, a police station, or an embassy to know the necessary steps that you can take. If a person wants to remain in Turkey for a period of more than 90 days, they should either apply for a longer stay visa before the travel, or get a residence permit by applying to the nearest Provincial Directorate of Migration Management or local authorities in Turkey before their 90 day stay validity has elapsed. There might be the possibility to extend the visa based on the reason for the need of extension, initial reason for visiting, and nationality.
In case of overstay than the visa’s validity, the foreigner might have to pay fines, get deported or even get banned from future travel to Turkey for a specific period of time.
