Dr. Viresh Mahajan is a paediatric Cardiologists who specialises in treatment of newborns and children suffering from complex and non-complex congenital heart defects and acquired heard diseases.
He has wide experience in diagnosing congenital heart defects by performing echocardiography and cardiac catheterisation in small infants and children. He was associated with department of cardiac catherisation laboratory at children hospital, boston, USA and has exposure to Fetal Cardiology at Queen Charlotte Hospital, London.
He is actively involved in Fetal diagnosis of congenital heart defects and performs fetal echocardiography and parental counselling for the same. He has many national and international publications and has also authored chapters for medical textbooks.
I am regularly performing Cardiac catheterisation and whole spectrum of interventions in neonates, children and adult congenital heart disease patients. We have also performed Hybrid Cardiac procedure including Perventricular VSD Device Closure. I am also routinely doing Percutaneous Device closure of ASD, VSD, PDA, Coronary AV fistula and Pulmonary AV Fistula, Balloon dilatation of neonatal aortic stenosis, pulmonary stenosis and coarctation of aorta. I have been involved in stent placement in Coarctation and Pulmonary arteries / MAPCA’S. I am also performing the non invasive pediatric cardiology procedures including Transthoracic, Transesophageal and Epicardial Echocardiography apart from Fetal Echocardiography. The surgical program is well developed and performing complex and non complex surgeries in neonatal, infants, children and grown up adults with CHD. We are performing about 500 cardiac procedure including Catheterisation, Interventions and surgeries on congenital heart patients at our centre with excellent results. I have been involved in 2 innovative modalities in pediatric cardiology.

I have been associated with a Canadian charitable organization Three Rivers Kids Foundation in Mississauga, Ontario and we treat cardiac patients sent by this organisation to us from Guyana.
I am presently involved with writing a Textbook on Pediatric Cardiology for Post Graduates with a leading Publisher. Book is targeted to be published by December 2007.
He has attended many workshops on Neonatal Resuscitation and also trained medical students,
nurses and paramedical staff on various aspects of neonatal resuscitation Research work (Thesis) for MD in Pediatrics was on "Brainstem auditory evoked potentials inintrauterine growth retarded neonates born to undernourished mothers."
He has worked in immunization clinics, immunization camps, OPD wards, emergencies, NICU and special clinics during my residency. I was actively involved in teaching undergraduate and
