About Female Sterilization

Female Sterilization or Tubal Ligation is a procedure in which a womans fallopian tubes are closed. The procedure is often referred to as having tubes tied. The procedure stops eggs from traveling from the ovaries into the fallopian tubes, where a sperm normally fertilizes the egg. Tubal Ligation is considered a permanent method of birth control for women.
