About Hammer, Claw, or Mallet Toe

Hammer Toe is a condition in which the middle joint of the toe is bent at an abnormal angle. Mallet Toe is a condition in which the topmost joint of the toe is bent at an abnormal angle. These conditions are usually caused due to restrictive footwear. Treatment for these conditions include wearing less restrictive footwear, wearing inserts in shoes, or surgery to realign the bone or release the tendon in the affected toe.
