About Pelvic Floor Repair

Pelvic floor repair is a broad term used to described simple surgical repairs of the pelvic floor. More specifically, the term anterior repair refers to correction of the front wall of the vagina; and posterior repair refers to correction of the back wall of the vagina. Anterior repair is a surgical procedure to repair or reinforce the weakened layers between the bladder and the vagina. Posterior repair is a surgical procedure to repair or reinforce the weakened layers between the rectum and the vagina.
