About Small Bowel Resection

This surgery is adminstered if some portion of small intestine is not working properly. Small intestines play a major role in absorption and digestion of food. The surgery can be done both with a laproscopic technique or as a traditional surgery. The surgeon needs to locate the diseased portion of the intestines, the portion is then removed and the intestines are stiched together.
