About Cryosurgery

Cryosurgery, also known as cryoablation, is a technique that uses extreme cold to destroy tissue. This procedure is considered minimally invasive, and is usually for patients that have abnormal growths on and/or inside their body. For external growths, liquid nitrogen is used directly on the surface. To treat internal growths, the doctor uses an instrument known as a cryoprobe that can contain liquid nitrogen or argon gas.
