About Osteotomy

Osteotomy is a surgical procedure in which the doctor cuts and/or resurfaces a particular bone in the body. In this procedure, the patient is usually put under spinal or general anesthesia. The doctor will then make an incision to access the area in question, cut out part of the bone, insert hardware and/or grafts to help the remaining bones stay in their proper positions, and then close the incision.
