About Refractive Lens Exchange

Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) is a procedure used to improve eyesight by replacing the original lens in the patient's eye with an artificial replacement. In this procedure, the doctor makes an incision to access the original lens, removes the lens, and replaces it with the new intraocular lens. The intraocular lens can be monofocal, multifocal, or accommodating. This surgery is an alternative to LASIK surgery and other types of correctional surgeries.
