About Shoulder Capsular Release

Shoulder Capsular Release is a surgical procedure used to treat a condition known as Frozen Shoulder (adhesive capsulitis). In this condition, thick tissue bands develop in the shoulder capsule, making it stiff. In this surgery, the doctor will use different methods to release the tight capsule. In one method, the surgeon might cut parts of the capsule to increase range of motion. In other, he or she might manipulate the shoulder such that the capsule stretches out.
