About Shoulder Impingement Syndrome

Shoulder Impingement Syndrome is a condition in which the patient experiences shoulder pain when reaching behind the back and/or raising the arm. Treatment for this condition can include medication such as NSAIDs, steroid injections, physical therapy, and surgical treatment. In surgery to treat impingement syndrome, the doctor will remove inflamed parts of the shoulder. If this condition is not treated, it can eventually lead to rotator cuff tear.
