About SLAP Tear Repair

SLAP Tear Repair is a surgical procedure used to repair a torn piece of cartilage in the shoulder known as the labrum. In particular, the tear in this condition occurs above the middle of the shoulder socket. In this surgery, the doctor makes an incision, uses an arthroscope (tube with camera/light) to view the damaged area, and either removes the torn piece of tissue or reattaches the tendon using sutures, wires, or other material.
