About Valvuplasty

Valvuloplasty is a procedure used to open up heart valves in order to improve circulation. In this procedure, the doctor will insert a catheter (narrow, long tube) into the groin of the patient, move it towards the heart, and use it to insert a small balloon into the valve. The doctor will then inflate the small balloon, which forces the valve open, and then remove the balloon after this has occurred.
