Mastoidectomy is a procedure involving the removal of diseased mastoid air cells. These sells are present behind the ear in the hollow cavity of the skull. These cells develop infection and this can even spread through the temporal bone. The procedure involves removal of infected cells and partial or complete removal of temporal bone. This can help cure the infection and can result in hearing loss as well.
