Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) is a weakened part of the aortic artery in the abdominal cavity. Because it is weakened, the AAA could burst, causing internal bleeding and damage. Repair treatments for AAA include open aneurysm repair and endovascular stent grafting procedures. In open aneurysm repair, the doctor will replace the weakened portion of the artery with an artificial graft. In endovascular stent grafting, the doctor will use catheters to feed a stent graft into the weakened area of the artery.
